Shelter by
the sea.
Kasa 傘 _seavilla is a seaside holiday rental in Samae San, Chonburi. The owner's brief called for a pool villa that brings together Thai and Japanese design influences. Simple lines and clearly articulated building forms give the architecture an understated identity, while an open plan creates a fluid setting for shared holiday living.
The layout clearly separates communal and private spaces. Shared activities occupy the ground floor, while four bedrooms are arranged on the second floor. An overhead opening brings natural light into the stairwell and the circulation area leading to the guest rooms. Openings on all four sides encourage cross ventilation and allow sea breezes to move through the building.
Designed for a coastal climate of strong sun and frequent rain, the villa is sheltered beneath a high, expansive roof that covers the entire building. This generous canopy provides shade and protection while supporting an airy spatial character, bringing the architecture into closer dialogue with its seaside setting.
